Scouting Report
Kyle Turris is a dynamic player with great offensive upside. Despite his small frame, Turris has a gritty side. Regardless, he needs put on some more pounds and strength in order for him to compete at a higher level. He handles the puck well and has an accurate shot. Turris is dangerous in the offensive zone and is not selfish with the puck. His skates well and has good speed. Turris has been known to elevate his game in clutch situations with the Burnaby Express.
NHL Potential
1st or 2nd line center, top 6 forward
Notes
Kyle Turris’ rights are owned by the Vancouver Giants. He turned down the opportunity to play in the WHL to play with Burnaby in the BCHL as it is his intention to play with the Wisconsin Badgers in the NCAA next season. Turris is expected to go in the first 5 picks of the 2007 NHL draft. If Turris drops, it might be because some NHL scouts see BCHL as lower competition than the WHL.
